Young people (aged 12–25 years) make up almost 1 in 5 Queenslanders, representing a powerful voice across our state’s population. Your views and ideas are critical to shape the best future for our state.

The world has changed a lot since our current Queensland Youth Strategy: Building young Queenslanders for a global future was released in 2017, so it’s time to collect fresh perspectives on how we can make our state a better place for young people.

We’re looking for your input into the new Queensland Youth Strategy to ensure it reflects:

  1. the current issues and challenges you’re facing
  2. the services, support and information you need
  3. how government can connect and engage with you better.

We know that young Queenslanders are concerned about a number of issues including:

  • climate change
  • mental health
  • housing
  • education and employment
  • living independently
  • opportunities to engage with government.

This is your opportunity to champion the issues that matter to you.

Your feedback will help guide how young people, government and the community can work together to ensure your voices are heard in achieving a brighter future.

    Personal information provided by way of responses to this online survey, including screen name, email address and demographic data, is collected by the Department of Environment and Science (the department) for the purpose of informing the new Queensland Youth Strategy.

    The Office for Youth in the Department of Environment and Science will use this information to determine the extent to which the survey responses reflect the youth of Queensland. The Office for Youth falls within the portfolio responsibilities of the Minister for Science and Youth Affairs.  Consequently, your survey responses may be disclosed to the Minister in accordance with the responsibilities of that position. The department will not otherwise use or disclose any of the information you provide unless authorised or required by law to do so.

    The engagement platform is hosted by EngagementHQ, a third party cloud based service platform owned and operated by Granicus. EngagementHQ/Granicus will provide the survey responses to the department as demographic data. EngagementHQ/Granicus will not otherwise use or disclose your data without your consent.
