Be part of the next big chapter for Queensland’s outdoor recreation in North Queensland. Following a $15.5 million investment by the Queensland Government to expand the world-class Smithfield Mountain Bike Park from 30 kilometres to 85 kilometres of trails, we are seeking forward-thinking commercial operators to help elevate this nationally significant destination.
Whether you’re envisioning standout single activations or a bold, integrated, whole-of-park concept, this is your chance to help shape an iconic outdoor experience under Queensland’s Destination 2045 tourism strategy.
The Registration of Interest (ROI) process is your gateway to registering innovative ideas and exploring exciting partnership possibilities. We’re inviting the private sector to help realise the park’s full potential, from trail operations and shuttle services to hospitality ventures, major events, training facilities, or linkage to trails across Tropical North Queensland. By acting now, industry can help inform the final track network design and trailhead infrastructure, so potential operator needs can be considered, where appropriate, into our final designs.
Industry briefing
Two online industry briefings will be held to provide interested parties with the chance to hear directly from the project team, ask questions, and learn more about this rare opportunity.
Registrations for the industry briefing held on 21 April are closed, however registrations for the 5 May 2026 session are now open.
To attend the industry briefing, RSVP by 3 May 2026 via Commercial Opportunity Industry Briefing form to secure your place and help shape the future of Smithfield Mountain Bike Park.
