About our education sessions

The Queensland Government’s Safer Schoolies Year 12 education sessions are free of charge and are delivered to thousands of students each year to help keep them safe.

Providing information to young people in advance of Schoolies celebrations empowers them to make healthy and safe choices, and to look after each other – at Schoolies and in their lives beyond as young adults.

Key messages include awareness of drugs and alcohol (physical and legal impacts), safe sex and consent, mental and physical health, and encouraging young adults to seek help when they are struggling – as well as reminding young people of their rights and responsibilities.

Safer Schoolies is a collaborative response between state and local government agencies, and community organisations, to deliver vital safety and support services to school leavers celebrating the completion of their studies.
