Consultation has concluded

Julia Creek Dunnart

You are invited to provide input on the Queensland bioregional pilot plans.

The Queensland and Australian governments are working together to better manage cumulative impacts and threats to the environment in areas important for economic development.

We have commenced bioregional planning in three locations, focussed on:

  • Urban development in Potential Future Growth Areas (PFGAs) in south-eastern Queensland
  • Wind farm developments in the Collinsville area in northern Queensland
  • Mineral mining in the Julia Creek and Richmond area in north-western Queensland.

Your input will inform the project team to better understand the relevant biodiversity, social, cultural and economic values for each of the pilot regions. This will enable us to analyse potential impacts and develop guidance on avoiding and mitigating the cumulative impacts of the targeted development types in each of the pilot plan areas.

The bioregional plans will be made under section 176 of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act).

For more information (including maps of the pilot areas) please visit our website.
