Consultation has concluded

The Queensland Government has committed to investigating and consulting about the possible establishment of an independent Environmental Protection Agency, to protect our environment, create jobs, and support economic growth.

Survey

You have received a private link and invitation to participate in this targeted consultation as your organisation has been identified as one of Queensland’s peak industry, environmental and community groups or associations across sectors including:

  • Agriculture and food
  • Conservation and environment
  • Industry and commerce
  • Local, state and federal government agencies
  • Resources
  • Waste and resource recovery

Peak industry groups are asked to make a submission on behalf of their organisation and members.

To make a submission

  1. Review the discussion paper.
  2. Set up an In the Loop account. Setting up an account helps protects the integrity of the survey results.
  3. Log in and respond to the questions posed in the discussion paper. Responses can be completed gradually – you can save and return to your submission at any time.
  4. Submit the response.

Stakeholder consultation is open from Tuesday 24 May and closes Friday 22 July 2022.

The discussion paper brings together learnings from the investigation, research, benchmarking and feedback received to date, during community and stakeholder consultation activities. It also includes possible models and a series of questions.

Targeted consultation is also occurring with staff of the current environmental regulator, the Department of Environment and Science, and Environmental Authority (EA) holders. These groups have also received private links to the survey and discussion paper.
