Queensland is the most biologically diverse state in Australia, with many native plants and animals, and landscapes found nowhere else in the world.

The Queensland Government released Conserving Nature — a Biodiversity Conservation Strategy for Queensland (Biodiversity Strategy) in October 2022, as an important step in building a statewide vision that ‘nature is actively supported to thrive in Queensland’. Many people, organisations and Queensland Government departments are making significant contributions to conserve our globally significant biodiversity. The Biodiversity Strategy brings together these programs of work.
